Rental Terms and Conditions for Motorcycle Rental
Upon submission of your booking payment for your rental motorcycle and any additional rented items (Helmets, Jackets, Gloves Topbox etc), you agree that you have read and accepted all Terms and Conditions of this agreement as a binding contract between Adventure Bike Rentals Cape Town and you, the Renter.
On collection of your motorcycle you will need to pay the damages deposit to Adventure Bike Rentals Cape Town.
The Renter/Rider must be in possession of a valid motorcycle license for motorcycles larger than 250cc with no endorsements. A valid identity document or passport must be produced on collection of all motorcycles.
A 50% deposit is required to confirm the booking. The remaining 50% is to be paid on the rental start date.
If for whatever reason the motorcycle you have selected for rental, should become unavailable for your selected dates, Adventure Bike Rentals Cape Town will endeavor to find the exact model bike for your rental period. Alternatively, you may select another motorcycle for your period. If no motorcycle is chosen or available for the rental period you will receive a full refund of your deposit paid.
Payment Methods:
All rentals must be paid in full at time of the rental start date.
You may pay for your Rental deposit via:

Direct Bank Transfer EFT (Please Contact us for banking details) or via Credit Card.

Adventure Bike Rentals Cape Town is not responsible for any fees incurred by banking transactions during the refund process ; nor any differences in exchange rates.
Booking and Cancellation Policy:
* Cancellation of your reservation if 10 days or more prior to collection = 30% of total Invoice.
**Cancellation of your reservation if less than 10 days to rental start date = 100% cancellation fee (No Refund given)
Adventure Bike Rentals Cape Town does not offer any Medical Aid Assistance nor Medical Aid Insurance of any sort. Adventure Bike Rentals Cape Town is not liable for third party liability claims against the rider and/or pillion including injuries ,loss or death.
Please note: We recommend that the Renter secures his/her own adequate travel, health and accident insurance. At Adventure Bike Rentals Cape Town our minimum rental period is 24 hours.
Collection and Delivery of motorcycles are subject to additional charges at a minimum of R500 (per one-way) distant dependent . The renter agrees that the motorcycle is rented entirely at his own risk and regardless of the circumstances or reasons he hereby indemnifies Adventure Bike Rentals Cape Town and all our employees and agents against all loss,damage or injury to persons or property. In the event of any breach of contract or any dispute regarding the contract arising from the rental, the renter accepts that all and any costs arising from such a dispute will be for the renters’ account.
Late Returns:
Bookings are based on a 24 hour period.
Kindly notify us of late returns beforehand so that we may make the necessary adjustments.
Both parties will then need to agree on a convenient return date/time. No refunds to be entertained after hours (5PM).
No Returns after 6 PM.
Please note : Attempts to return a motorcycle after 6 PM will result in an extra full day’s rental.
When returning the motorcycle, additional charges will apply after a grace period of 1 hour is exceeded.
If a renter returns later than this grace period, Adventure Bike Rentals Cape Town will charge for excess hours, including the grace period.
Excess hours are charged at R500 per hour. Additional kilometres are charged at R6.00 after the first 300 klm.
Damages Deposits:
Please note that our daily rental rates include comprehensive motorcycle insurance‐ however the rider will be liable for R30 000 damage deposit per motorcycle before the rental begins. Under no circumstances, may you as the renter allow anyone to ride your rented motorcycle.Violation of this is cause for immediate termination of the rental contract. All damages will be paid for by the renter. Once the motorcycle has been returned, we will have the motorcycle washed and then inspected for any damage. Should it be shown that damage to the motorcycle was caused by the rider, a replacement motorcycle can be provided at a delivery cost (availability dependent) plus the original rental rate and terms. If no damage has occurred, we will process the refund of your deposit via an E.F.T or Credit Card into your bank account. If the motorcycle or items rented have suffered damage, we will obtain quotations for replacement parts and labour and pay the remaining balance of your damage deposit to you.
Damage deposits must be paid on or before the day of rental after you have viewed and inspected your rental motorcycle.You are welcome to take photos and or videos of the condition of the motorcycle(s) prior to leaving the premises.
No renter is permitted to leave the borders of South Africa. Our tracking devices will automatically respond to a theft if any attempt is made at a border crossing.
Adventure Bike Rentals Cape Town have full discretion to replace damaged parts . Customers have no rights to collect or demand damaged parts.
Adventure Bike Rentals Cape Town is not responsible for differences in refunds due to ZAR currency exchange rates during the rental period. The damage deposit does not include recovery of motorcycles; Recovery fees for any motorcycle are additional for the renters account.
Kindly Note: Damages to the motorcycle, luggage panniers, topbox, helmets, jackets, gloves or any other rented items will be recovered at the replacement cost. Any tyre/rim damage whatsoever is for the Renter’s account.
Rider Behavior: Adventure Bike Rentals Cape Town tracking devices installed on the motorcycle will alert us in the event of the following rider behavioral occurrences: Excessive Speeding (Above 120km/h) Excessive Acceleration, Excessive Braking, South African Border crossing attempts.
Under no circumstances are the motorcycles to be washed by the renter.
Fair Wear and Tear
Fair wear and tear is included in the rental agreement. Please Note : We do NOT permit Tank Bags to be installed on our bikes as they will scratch the bikes and you will be liable for the damages. The cost of fuel and any other necessary engine oils/fluids are for the renter’s account.

Charges for refueling are R250 per motorcycle irrespective of fuel level,excluding the cost of the fuel. The renter must return the motorcycle with a full tank of fuel (Unleaded Fuel) and the oil level will be checked, topped up and charged to the renter if so required upon return of the motorcycle. It is the renters’ responsibility on longer rental periods to regularly check and if necessary top up the motorcycle oil with the correct motorcycle oil. We recommend Advantec Motorcycle Oil as used by BMW.
The Renter will be responsible for ALL excessive wear and tear.This pertains to, but is not limited to, the following:
1.1 Excessive Tyre Wear – above average tyre usage for the kilometers ridden ,the Renter will be responsible for replacement tyres including fitment charges.
1.2 Paint and Seat Damage from knee pads, metal boot buckles, rubbing and scuffing, etc will be for the Renter’s account.
1.3 Scuffing‐from tie downs -the Renter will be responsible for replacement of damaged all parts.
Traffic fines incurred by renters whilst riding the rented motorcycle will be deducted from the renter’s credit card and subject to a R250 admin fee over and above the fine amount.
